Terms of Service
Last updated October 20, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Thomas Gumz, who makes PanoPaper (“we”), for using the PanoPaper app for Mac and buying PanoPaper Pro. By using PanoPaper you agree to them. They are written to be read, so please do.
Using PanoPaper
You may use PanoPaper on your own Macs, for yourself, your family or your business. The free version has every feature, with “UNLICENSED” across the camera pictures, and the first 7 days are a free trial of PanoPaper Pro.
Please don't resell PanoPaper or license keys, share a license key beyond the Macs it covers, or try to get around the license check.
PanoPaper Pro
PanoPaper Pro is a yearly plan or a one-time purchase. One license key works on up to three Macs at a time; you can move it from one Mac to another yourself.
- From this website, PanoPaper Pro is sold by Polar (polar.sh), our reseller and merchant of record, which handles payment, taxes, receipts and refunds. If PanoPaper Pro doesn't work out for you, contact us and we'll sort it out.
- From the Mac App Store, Apple sells it under Apple's terms, and refunds go through Apple.
The yearly plan renews each year until you cancel it, which you can do at any time: on your account page for a purchase from this website, or in your App Store subscriptions. It then keeps working until the end of the year you paid for. The one-time purchase does not expire.
Your cameras and what you show
Use PanoPaper only with cameras and NVRs you own or are allowed to access. You are responsible for following the laws where you live about recording and showing people, especially when you broadcast a camera live to the internet or show it where others can see it.
What you broadcast is yours, and so is the responsibility for it. YouTube, Facebook and any other service you stream to have rules of their own, which apply to your broadcasts there.
Your YouTube account
If you connect your YouTube account, PanoPaper uses the YouTube API Services to run your live broadcasts for you. By connecting your account, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. What PanoPaper does with your account, and what it never does, is in our Privacy Policy; Google handles your data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect your account in PanoPaper at any time.
Not a security system
PanoPaper shows your cameras and tells you when they detect someone, but it is no alarm or security monitoring service. Detections can be late or missed, a camera or the network can go down, and your Mac can sleep. Please don't rely on PanoPaper alone where safety is at stake.
Other companies' products
PanoPaper works with products and services of other companies, such as Ubiquiti's UniFi Protect, IP cameras, YouTube and Facebook. They are theirs, they can change them, and PanoPaper is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them. When one of them changes in a way PanoPaper can't follow, we'll do our best, but we can't promise it keeps working.
No warranty
We work hard to make PanoPaper reliable, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows.
Limits of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost data, footage or profits, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for PanoPaper Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits; there, they apply only as far as allowed. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law as a consumer.
Changes
PanoPaper changes over time, and so may these terms. When they change in a way that matters, the “last updated” date above changes too. Using PanoPaper after that means you accept the new terms.
