Other Streaming Services
The Custom tab of Settings ▸ Broadcast takes any service that works with streaming software - Twitch, Kick, Restream, Owncast - or a server of your own.
What every service shares, such as choosing the camera and what happens on a patchy connection, is in Live Broadcasts.
Going live
- In the service's streaming settings, find the server address (often called the RTMP or stream URL) and the stream key.
- In the Custom tab, click 'Set…' next to Server and type or paste the address.
- Copy the stream key, and click 'Paste'.
- Click 'Go Live on…'. The broadcast starts right away.
PanoPaper names the service after its server, such as “live.twitch.tv”; a long server name shows as “Custom Server”.
The Custom tab
- Server - the address your service gives you, starting with rtmp:// or rtmps://. Click 'Set…' to type it, 'Edit…' to change it. If your service shows one address with the stream key at its end, paste the whole of it: PanoPaper keeps the key apart.
- Stream key - the key your service gives you for streaming software. Copy it there, then click 'Paste'. PanoPaper shows only its last characters; it stays in your keychain. If what you copied doesn't look like a stream key, PanoPaper asks before saving it. To use another key, click 'Remove…' first, then paste the new one.
- Quality - 4K, 1080p or 720p. 1080p is marked Recommended; on a slow or changing connection, such as on the road, choose 720p. 4K needs an upload that holds steady: below what the service expects, it may refuse the picture rather than let it soften. While you're live, the status shows how much is being sent.
