PanoPaper Pro
PanoPaper starts with a 7-day free trial of everything. When the trial ends, it keeps working as the free version - unless you buy PanoPaper Pro, as a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.

The main display is the one with the menu bar in System Settings ▸ Displays ▸ Arrange.
The free trial
The trial starts the first time you open PanoPaper and lasts seven days. The menu bar menu counts them down at the top: 'Free Trial: 6 Days Left'. Choose it to see what PanoPaper Pro costs.
When the trial ends, a window explains what changes. Nothing you set up is lost: the free version keeps showing the camera your main display showed, and buying PanoPaper Pro later brings back every display's and every Space's camera just as you left them.
The free version
The free version shows one camera, on your main display and on all of its Spaces, as a still picture refreshed once a minute. Choose which camera in the menu bar menu or in Settings ▸ Displays; the 1 to 9 desktop keys switch it too.
What needs PanoPaper Pro still shows, with a lock: the other displays' camera menus, Camera Sound in the menu and in Settings, a PTZ camera's presets. Choosing one opens the upgrade window.
Buying PanoPaper Pro
- Choose 'Upgrade to PanoPaper Pro…' - or 'Free Trial: … Days Left' - in the menu bar menu.
- Click Yearly or Lifetime to select it, then click the Buy button under them - it names the plan and its price. The checkout opens in your web browser; payments are handled by Polar, the store behind PanoPaper.
- After paying, the thank-you page shows your license key. Click 'Activate PanoPaper' - if your browser asks whether to open PanoPaper, click 'Allow'. PanoPaper opens on Settings ▸ License and unlocks Pro on this Mac.
PanoPaper did not open? Copy the key from the thank-you page, then click 'Enter License Key…' in the upgrade window or in Settings ▸ License. Your key is also on your account page.
One license key works on up to three Macs.
Entering your license key
A key you have copied is filled in for you. Click 'Activate': PanoPaper checks the key, unlocks Pro on this Mac right away, and confirms that this Mac is now licensed. If the key is refused, the sheet says why - see Troubleshooting.
Managing a subscription
'Manage Subscription', in the upgrade window or in Settings ▸ License, opens your account page in the browser: cancel or renew, update your card, find your receipts or your license key.
When a yearly subscription ends, PanoPaper goes back to the free version at its next check - within a day. Renew it, and PanoPaper Pro comes back by itself at the next check; there is no need to enter the key again.
Moving to another Mac
To use your license key on another Mac when it already works on three, free one of them: on that Mac, click 'Deactivate This Mac…' in Settings ▸ License. Your account page lists the Macs using your key too, and can remove one.
If you rotate your license key
Your account page can give your license key a new string - useful if the key became known to others. The old key stops working at once, so on each of your Macs PanoPaper Pro ends at its next check, within a day. Enter the new key on each Mac with 'Enter License Key…' in Settings ▸ License: every Mac keeps its place among the three. If Macs you do not know use your key, remove them on your account page.
Without internet
PanoPaper checks your license about once a day. Without an internet connection, Pro keeps working for 14 days after the last successful check. The trial needs no internet at all.
