Detections Settings

The Detections tab of Settings: whether PanoPaper tells you when a camera sees someone, and how. See Detections.

Detections

• 'Enable Motion Detection' - turns detections on or off. Off, PanoPaper doesn't listen for them at all.
• Detect - 'People' (a face counts as a person) and 'Animals (cats and dogs)'.

Cameras

A checkbox for each camera, all on at first; turn off the ones you don't want to hear about. Beside each, what it can detect. A camera without smart detection in UniFi Protect can't be chosen.

Notifications

• 'Show live detections at the top of the screen' - the detection overlay, which names what was seen and where.
• 'Show in Notification Center' - a macOS notification for each detection, with the camera's picture. Off at first; the first time you turn it on, macOS asks for permission. See In Notification Center.
• 'Show an outline around detections' - frames around the people and animals on the wallpaper.
• 'Play a chime' - the soft chime; the slider below sets how loud it is (you hear it as you let go).

Click a detection at the top of the screen or in Notification Center, or press your Full Screen shortcut within a minute, to watch that camera in Full Screen.

In the free version, the whole tab is locked; 'Upgrade to Pro…' shows what PanoPaper Pro adds.
