Displays Settings

The Displays tab of Settings shows one display at a time: a live preview of its camera on the left, its settings on the right.

Choosing a display

With more than one display, the buttons at the top name them, left to right as they are arranged in System Settings. Click one to see it. The tab opens on the display you looked at last.

Camera and quality

Next to the preview are the display's name and resolution, and a box with:

• Camera - the camera the display shows, from the same list as the menu bar menu. Unavailable camera means its NVR is not signed in right now.
• Quality - High, Medium or Low, with the resolution each has for this camera. See Stream quality.

In the Web Edition, a note below the box reminds you that the camera is for the Space on this display right now - each Space keeps its own - while the quality applies to all of them.

The live preview

The preview has the display's shape and shows exactly what the wallpaper shows. A still picture fills in until the live video arrives. It runs only while this tab is showing.

It is also a viewfinder: scroll, pinch or double-click to zoom in, and drag to look around - the wallpaper follows. The line under the preview says what you can do with the camera shown. See Zooming and Looking Around.

360° cameras

For a ceiling-mounted 360° camera, the box has more:

• View - Flattened, a natural view of part of the room, or Fisheye, the round picture as the camera sends it.
• 'Slowly look around' - the flattened view turns once around the room every minute.
• 'Smooth turning (60 fps)' - on Mac laptops only: turn it off to save battery.

PTZ cameras

For a PTZ camera, the box has Presets: its 'Go To' menu sends the camera Home or to one of its presets. If your account may move the camera, the preview turns and zooms the camera itself, and a note reminds you that this changes the picture for everyone, recordings included; if not, a note says so and the preview zooms digitally.
